A STRANGE LAND IN
A STRANGE MAN
A Song
With All Due Respect to Heinlein!
(Written in 1998)
He's both a mystery
And transparent to himself
The older he gets, the stupider he feels
And the younger he sometimes feels,
The less he can perform
Like when he was young
And he goes on feeling
Like he's in heat
Though the excitement
Never feels like it used to
He's a strange man
A stranger in a strange land
A land in a strange man
He's a strange land
A stranger man there never was
A land that no one loves
Strange man that he is
A continent by himself
A country of one
Strange land that he is
An alien dropped off
On the wrong planet
In the twilight zone
Of another dimension
A great big unreality
With little true substance
And very little that's true
In any way at all
The most bizarre of bizarre
A great big disappointment
He's a strange man
A stranger in a strange land
A land in a strange man
He's a strange land
A stranger man there never was
A land that no one loves
Strange man that he is
A continent by himself
A country of one
Strange land that he is
